Coming back from from her debut single “1996,” R&B singer daze returns after a year in a new single depicting men and love.
Daze has revealed that the new song is an effort to understand how men think about love, “With ‘Lonely,’ I wanted to analyze how men felt about love. It has helped me take their perspective into account and showed me a new understanding that I can apply into my future relationship,” she said.
The song was inspired by American R&B artists India Arie who daze searches for her real, honest lyrics, with a masterly layer of vocals and nostalgic beat from the early 2000’s. Oldschool R&b tracks, ’80’s rock and love songs, and alternative and indie artists such as Imogen Heap and Bon Iver have greatly influenced her and her own art and nostalgic-fresh sound.
Lonely is out now on all digital music streaming platforms. For updates, follow Tarsier Records on various social media accounts @tarsierrecords.
