Acer and G-Shock #TimeForUs Launch

In a move to bridge the gap between generations, leading tech and innovations company, Acer, and Casio G-shock collaborates to launch #TimeForUs. Through technology these two giants are breaking down obstacles stemming from misunderstandings and misconceptions.
 

At Acer, we believe that it’s time to focus on bridging the generation divide,” shares Sue Ong-Lim, Sales and Marketing Director of Acer Philippines. “It’s imperative that we see that, amidst the differences between Gen Xers and millennials, they are also a lot alike.”

 
Both Acer and Casio G-shock are recognized and patronized by Gen X, and Millenials: Acer, being a high quality maker of PC and related products and Casio who has G-shock as its franchise and appeals to users hailing from the previous decade and the present one.
 
Getting the attention of each generation is not simple. That’s why Acer Philippines got the help from renowned Wolfgang vocalist Basti Artadi and the popular spoken word artist Juan Miguel Severo who are both icons of their craft. The two have joined forces to create a masterpiece of spoken word and musical titled “Time For Us”. 
 
 
Sebastian Artadi better known as Basti Artadi rose to fame as a frontman for the rock band Wolfgang which was formed in 1992 while  Juan Miguel Severo became famous like most celebrities these days which is thru social media. His piece titled “Ito Na Ang Huling Tula Na Isusulat Ko Para Sa’yo” went viral over the internet making him a sensation. Spoken word poetry became an instant hit.
 

G-Shock is proud to be Acer’s partner in furthering this cause. With Basti Artadi and Juan Miguel Severo, we aspire to bring the Gen X and millennial generation together,” says Charlene Hung, Marketing Officer of Casio Philippines. “With their help, we are optimistic that we will ultimately be able to succeed.”

 
 

The #TimeForUs Launch Event

June 20th is when the launch of #TimeForUs  was held on Yes Please at BGC Taguig where the bar is transformed into a time machine. 80s and 90s nostalgia filled the place characterized by old school arcades which are paired with Acer’s gaming laptops and music catering to the discerning ears of the two generations. The best of both worlds in one room.
 
As part of the partnership between Acer and G-shock, the #TimeForUS promo is also launched which entitles buyers of  a qualifying Acer laptop to receive a G-schock. Customers can claim their watches at service centers in Manila, Cebu and Davao
 
At the same event is where the piece, “Time for US” is performed by Basti Artadi and Juan Miguel Severo, each representing their generation. Two different styles and craft brought together by a single purpose.

At the end of the campaign, we want to have brought a better understanding of and between Gen Xers and millennials,” shares Ray Gozon, Senior Marketing Manager of Acer Philippines. “We want these two generations to see the merits of working together.”
