Where to Eat in Manila: Sabreen’s Seafood Market and Restaurant (Dampa)

If you want to eat fresh seafood in Manila, there’s a lot of Dampa (Seafood Market Shop to Cook Restaurants) options in the city. There are the popular joints in Macapagal Highway near Mall of Asia. However, if you are looking for a more upscale and very clean Dampa type of seafood restaurant, you should try Sabreen’s Seafood Market and Restaurant in Ermita, Manila. It’s fine dining but cheaper than hotel fine dining.

Located at Jacobo Street in between United Nations Avenue and Padre Faura, it is a popular place for tourist staying in the area.  It’s just a stone’s throw away from Robinsons Place Manila.

The seafood market and restaurant has been there for 29 years but was recently renovated by its new owner to give it a more upscale royalty look. The place is very clean in spite of having a seafood display area where you can see and buy fresh live seafood such as clams, crabs, fish and lobsters to name a few. You can also get vegetables for ingredients to be used in  cooking with the seafood. There is also a section for fresh fruits for dessert.

Here is a video walk-thru of the market, kitchen, restaurant, and the food that we eat at the restaurant.

Sabreen’s will be soon launching the biggest seafood restaurant aquarium in Manila which will serve as the restaurant’s centerpiece.

The price is a bit higher compared to the typical Dampa seafood market and restaurant. However, this place is somewhere you will not be ashamed taking your foreigner or balikbayan / OFW family and friends. With the clean and sanitary dining area where you can see through the open kitchen through the glass, you will definitely not get any criticism or hesitation from your valued guest.
