This January 19, 2015, after It’s Showtime, a new teleserye will entertain you to lose your siesta time. Having the famous title of the 1981 movie FlorDeLiza, which starred Julie Vega and Janice de Belen when they were famous child actresses, Direk Wenn V. Deramas explained that only the title is the same. According to him, the story is totally different.
This new teleserye “FlorDeLiza” which starts January 19 is also the comeback of the 90’s iconic love team of Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Augustin. If you are a fan of the love team, you will definitely enjoy a lot of “kilig moments” with the lovebirds on screen.
A presscon was held last January 12 at the Dolphy Theater at ABS-CBN for the new TV series. The two title roles of Flor and Liza played by Ashley Sarmiento and Rhed Bustamante respectively. Flordeliza is a story of 2 families, of 2 loving mothers and 2 daughters struck by unfortunate events but becomes tighter with love as family.
Having watch the first 5 episodes as a preview to the press, I was really impressed with the story of the two mothers played by Jolina Magdangal and Desiree Del Valle and their daughters. Each with different character, different way of loving, and their own set of hard realities.
The two children that plays the role of Flor and Liza were very good as well in portraying their roles. It will be definitely a tear jerker but there are also lots of funny moments.
And of course the “kilig moments” treat for Jolina – Marvin love team. The chemistry of the love team still as strong as it was in the 90’s. Watch out for the throwback scenes of Jolina and Marvin at the dance and the river, definitely enjoyable!
Other casts includes Carlo Aquino, Elizabeth Oropesa, Tetchie Agbayani, and Juan Rodrigo, Edward Mendez, Lemuel Pelayo, Johan Santos, Joey Paras, Tess Antonio, Ronie “Atak” Araña, Dionne Monsanto and Nikki Valdez.
I like the funny parts delivered by Joey Paras, and Atak even in their supporting roles.
Here is my video coverage of the presscon:
Flordeliza will air starting this Monday, January 19, 2015 with its timeslot just after It’s Showtime. Don’t miss it!
