Alfa in Manila

I got invited to see and hear pop-folk artist Alfa, at the Le Cafe Curiuex. This is her first time in Manila to visit and perform at different venues.

Here are some of the photos and videos of the event.

About ALFA

With an alluring voice and disarming honesty, pop-folk artist Alfa can make a bustling room stop. Indie Music Reviewer has comparedthis multi-instrumentalist to “a clear blue sky and a candid soul” thatbegs the listener to “hear what else she has to say.”

Born in the Philippines to a family of musicians, Alfa got an early start in piano and violin, playing nationally with the Children’s Orchestra Society of New York. Alfa’s music has received honorable mention from the New York Songwriters Circle and won Grand Prize at Kollaboration Acoustic 2009, a competition highlighting Asian-American talent.

After graduating from NYU and working as a reporter, Alfa took up music fulltime, traveling across the U.S. to play at college campuses and venues, garnering praise along the way.
